About Us

Find South Africa real estate easily!

Skilpad.com was launched in August 2008 and today is the fastest growing real estate portal in South Africa.  Our design philosophy is to keep the portal easy-to-use yet rich in the background technology and innovation required to deliver relevant South Africa real estate information quickly, attractively, efficiently and cost-effectively.

The founding members and creators of Skilpad.com are real estate, advertising and Internet professionals who are passionate about developing a portal that meets the needs and challenges of the people who are searching for real estate in South Africa and advertising real estate for sale here. To this end we place a high value on communicating with our users.

Some of our innovations to date include: most advanced technology in South Africa to keep real estate listings up to date without creating extra work for real estate agents; leading cellphone search system;  and first real estate portal in South Africa to provide estate agents with tools for adding video to their real estate listings.

Social Responsibility
We are a proudly South African company and want to play a constructive role in our society. One of the big social problems in South Africa is poverty. As a company that is active in the real estate industry in South Africa we feel that it is appropriate for us to help financially disadvantaged people meet their housing aspirations. We are committed to putting a percentage of our profit into meeting this urgent need.

WHY SKILPAD.com?

aboutskilpad_147

Skilpad is the Afrikaans word for “tortoise”. We like the sound of the word. We think it is memorable and stands out from the crowd.

And we also believe that nobody takes real estate more seriously than the tortoise, who carries his house with him wherever he goes!
The tortoise is also a symbol of survival and reliability, outperforming the flashy hare who is here today and gone tomorrow.

Watch this tortoise go!
