Tzaneen, the second largest town in Limpopo province is an attractive sub-tropical garden town in a fertile region known for fruit farming. Tropical fruits grown in the Tzaneen area include mangoes, bananas, oranges and avocados. Pine and eucalyptus plantations grow on the mountain slopes  surrounding the town.

Tzaneen tourist attractions include the beautiful Tzaneen Dam, Magoebaskloof, Haenertsburg and the Pekoe Tea Estate. There are a number of game reserves close to Tzaneen, which is also a popular stop-off point for the Kruger National Park some 100km away. Tzaneen is 89km away from Polokwane and 362km from Pretoria.
