About Mpumalanga

mpumalanga1_small_350

Mpumalanga is one of South Africa's scenic treasures, with towering mountains and high-lying grasslands in the west and sub-tropical lowveld in the east. The southern half of the famous Kruger National Park is in the lowveld region which borders on Swaziland and Mozambique.

The capital is Nelspruit, the commercial hub of the region and the heart of a major citrus growing area. The town has wide tree-lined streets and suburban properties with beautiful gardens. The province has a well-developed tourism infrastructure taking advantage of the mountains, valleys, forests, waterfalls and wildlife that abound. Notable tourist attractions include the historic gold rush towns of Barberton and Pilgrim's Rest, the Blyde River Canyon and God's Window.
